Innovative CFAB are made with a cellulose-based material, the first of its kind in our industry. Consisting of 65-75% recycled content, CFAB cellulose products represent an environmentally-responsible solution for acoustical materials. Other solutions such as spray foam insulation can be messy and hard to undo if implemented incorrectly. Additionally, the XPS foam board is a rigid thermal insulation board that contains petroleum materials such as polystyrene. This is where our cellulose-based material boards shine as they are easy to install/remove, don’t contain harmful petroleum materials, and are effective.
This cellulose soundproofing insulation is an inventive, yet sustainable alternative to traditional fiberglass and synthetic acoustical or thermal panels, which are unreliable performers in a variety of different applications. CFAB Cellulose Panels are perfect for insulating an area of your next project, as acoustic panels/inserts, and a variety of other noise-reduction tasks. Green Qualities
Made from a combination of recycled and renewable fibers, CFAB cellulose soundproofing insulation products are environmentally responsible and sustainable. Most CFAB cellulose foam board products are completely recyclable and no scrap is produced during the manufacturing process or installation of the material. In addition, they are manufactured using a greener process by reducing energy use and air pollution. Through an innovative manufacturing process, CFAB is produced as a cellulose-based product made primarily from post-consumer, post-industrial paper using recycled newspaper as the main raw material. We are able to provide continuous insulation meant for any surface such as the basement wall, bedrooms, office buildings, event centers, and more while remaining eco-friendly.
Acoustical Performance
The open design and density of CFAB cellulose soundproofing and insulation panels increase sound absorption to control and deaden sound. CFAB cellulose foam board panels achieve high Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) ratings based on the density specified. The chart below represents NRC ratings using standard weight material. Sound Transmission Classification (STC) ratings have been done for specific applications. STC values are determined for all of the construction materials in an assembly. The STC ratings exceed the values attained with commonly used acoustical materials.
Product Safety
Homeowners are concerned with safety, especially when it comes to their homes and families. Our green insulation board contains flame retardants to ensure maximum safety for building insulation. CFAB cellulose foam board panels have a Class A fire rating. The cellulose insulation boards do not contain any harmful airborne particles and do not itch or irritate skin like fiberglass insulation. Easy to handle and soft to the touch, CFAB cellulose panels can be left exposed, painted, or covered with drywall. To protect against mold growth, CFAB cellulose foam board panels contain an EPA-registered fungicide.
