Problem / Solution

The KikBrik™ solves the problem of getting exactly the kick drum sound you want. Tight, loose, huge, focused - the Brik can get it (combined with the right drumhead tuning, of course). By acoustically damping the shell's internal reflections while physically damping either or both heads, you can get the attack you need without losing the drum's character. And you can change your sound easily using the Brik's shapes and bevels.

The core of the KikBrik is formed from specially manufactured high-density multi-layered recycled cotton, which has linear sound absorption and is much more effective than acoustic foam. This material "treats" the inside of the drum like an acoustician would treat a recording studio to eliminate unwanted reflections and resonances.

The core is covered with tough, acoustically transparent poly mesh for durability. Each end has a non-slip covering with a different double-bevel shape for changing drumhead contact points, which changes the drum's sound.

Using the KikBrik

The KikBrik™ can be positioned at different angles and with different head contact points to change the kick drum sound. It may be used with any type of drumhead, from single-ply coated to complex multi-layer and striped heads, and with one- or two-head drums (call us if you have a three-head drum). Repositioning is easy for one-head drums, as well as two-head drums with a microphone access hole in the front head (simply reach through the hole to reposition the Brik).

Here are a few examples - try as many options as you like. Apply the adhesive-backed Velcro strips (included in the packaging) to hold the Brik in position once you've found your sound.
